Yesterday was Day 6…how did it go for you? For me, I had lots of energy the first half of the day and then around 2pm I crashed and had a headache. I sat down to relax for a little bit and had a snack (Rx Bar…delish, but I’m careful not to overeat them as they could easily be a food without brakes). Felt better in about an hour.
During this phase (days six and seven) many Whole 30ers report feeling sluggish and tired. According to the W30 book and W30 Instagram page, this is believed to be because your body is learning that it can’t rely on easy-access energy sources (sugar). For instance: sugary coffee drinks, baked goods, sodas, etc.
The suggestion is to sleep, take naps, take a day or two off from your exercise routine. Go to bed early, sleep in. Speaking from experience, just keep following the program, it will turn around, I promise.
Brunch: Three Egg Frittata with Smoked Salmon and Spinach. Shaved Brussels and Hashbrowns. Organic Berries.
Dinner: Hamburger with Sautéed Peppers. Roasted Sweet Potatoes. Braised Brussels Sprouts.
