It’s Day 7. We’ve officially been at this a week. By now you should be starting to get the hang of things.
A common mistake I hear is that people aren’t eating enough. They’re so afraid to eat something that’s not compliant, they really limit themselves and end up eating a little more than air.
Don’t let this happen to you. Make sure you are planning and have emergency meals at the ready.
For instance, today I got home from the gym and was really hungry. Lunch was the one meal I didn’t plan today, I thought maybe tuna salad or egg salad, but that wasn’t striking a chord with me.
Then I remembered I had purchased box of Chili Lime Chicken Burgers at Trader Joe’s a while back. I pan fried them and served them over a bed of baby spinach (quick saute with olive oil, salt and pepper), pan seared-roasted yams (leftover from dinner last night). Delicious! And really really easy. It saved me from mindlessly wandering my way through the pantry/fridge until I came across something for lunch.
After today, you should be starting to see your energy return, but for the time being, get some extra sleeep, take a nap and maybe go to bed early tonight. ?
Breakfast: Basil, Spinach and Egg Scramble. Shaved Brussels and Hashbrowns. Fresh Berries.
Lunch: Trader Joe’s Chili Lime Chicken Burger, Sautéed Spinach and Roasted-Pan Seared Yams.
