At the beginning of this year, I made a decision to start journaling. Not necessarily in the traditional sense of writing out my feelings and what’s on my mind, but rather as a way to map out my day so that I can set my intention and goals, jot down what I’m thankful for and what I want to manifest in my life.
I searched for a beautiful journal, something in which I would look forward to writing. I made the decision to set my alarm for 5:30 am everyday, which may seem early. With a four-year-old in house, it’s the only time in my day where my mind is clear and I have some alone time to be with thoughts.
This pattern has become habitual and I am actually enjoying getting out of bed to start my day. I look forward to my cup of coffee, my glassybaby candle and my quiet time. I’ve found that this act of productivity, a Magic Morning routine as some call it, really does help to set up my day with intention and purpose rather than in a reactive state of being. My days tend to run smoother, my head is clearer because I have “dumped” my thoughts down on paper and have freed up space to invent new things and processes.
