When was the last time you didn’t feel like yourself? Feeling blah, sluggish and just not right? Well, that was me all day yesterday, and quite frankly, many of the past several days. I could definitely feel the effects poor choices the past few of weeks. Too much sugar, too much wine and the inability to make sound choices really started to take a toll. In addition, sleep has been poor my heartburn is back and the days have been drawn out in a foggy abyss.
Thanks to the Whole30, I no longer feel bad about myself for my food choices but rather have learned to live in a state of awareness. Sometimes though, even with the best intentions, enjoying a few too many “it’s worth it” choices can leave one in a funk. I can’t tell you how many stomach aches I have had to endure after snacking on my son’s Easter candy. Yuck. Definitely NOT worth it.
Today I am starting a mini reset. I’m giving myself three days to get back on track. What I have found that in doing these periodically, I remind myself again that I am in control and I feel better when I make smart choices. Truly.
This morning I hit the ground running. Making good choices and feeling ready to clear the crud. Looking to follow a Whole30 diet today through Thursday and see if that makes a difference in things
I’d love to hear from you on how you deal with slumps in your program. What do you do to reset?
