Here we are on Day 5, I can’t believe it. I am running around like a chicken this morning, trying to get everything together before I head to the airport for my trip over to the east side of the mountains today.
When Melissa talks about Days 4 and 5 as “Kill All Things”, I can attest. While yesterday was a mostly positive day, I definitely got tested last night at the bouncy house with Charlie.
A group of our friends were taking their kiddos to the local bouncy house, perfect fun, right? It was going great until about 45 minutes in, when Charlie somehow landed on his foot wrong when he bounced out of one of the toys. Crying ensued as did the notion that he will never be able to walk again… Good grief. Got him home (carrying a 5 year old and all of his belonging is tough work!), tucked him in on the couch.
Scrambling to make dinner because I knew John would be hungry when he got home, and I didn’t know if we needed to go to urgent care, I was flying around the kitchen trying to get things knocked out. KILL ALL THINGS.
We were worried something was broken. Then when we mentioned to Charlie, that he wouldn’t be able to go to a party the next day if he couldn’t walk…things started to shift. By the middle of the night when he needed to use the restroom…he could suddenly walk! I tell you, miracles are happening at this house. 🙂
So onward with Whole30 today. After packing up my cooler for my trip, I made myself a little breakfast, SW Scramble, Hash Browns, Avocado and Salsa. Topped with Cilantro. Where are my cilantro fans? I read somewhere that ten percent of the population do not care for cilantro because of a certain gene that makes it taste like soap. Bummer.
Running trying to get out of the house for my flight, I forgot to eat lunch. Well, actually I didn’t forget, I just wasn’t hungry at the time since my breakfast was pretty filling this morning.
Fast forward to sitting on the flight and it’s now 3:00- I’m hungry. Or should I say HANGRY. Guh. Fortunately, I have a cooler of food. I didn’t want to go defend anyone on the plane with hard boiled eggs so they opted for an RX Bar and some dried chicken (not bad!).
A sad thing did happen at security, they took my nutpods. Totally my fault- I should have checked them in my bag. Black coffee it is for me unless I can find something in Pullman. Not likely.
So, off to Spokane then Pullman.
