Hi, I’m Susie!

Welcome to my little spot on the internet, Beyond the Kitchen Door. I provide practical solutions helping families live their healthiest lives.  So, what the heck does that mean?

After graduating from culinary school, I worked as a personal chef and meal delivery business owner for 10 years. During this time, I saw countless families struggle with trying to figure out what to make for dinner. They were coming home from a long day staring blankly at the inside of their fridge, hoping that some sort of inspiration would come their way.

My clients all wanted the best for their families; healthy nutritious food and to have the ability disconnect from the world for 30 minutes and reconnect with each other around the dinner table. In this fast paced world that we live in, more and more people are finding this very difficult to do.

One day I had an epiphany, maybe I could inspire others to take the stress out weeknight dinners and bring the joy back to the kitchen, by sharing some tips and tricks that I have learned over the years not only as a personal chef, but also as a busy mom just trying to do the right thing. So here I am and I absolutely without at doubt, love what I do.

Helping families come together at the dinner table, is my jam.

I’m not only passionate about what goes in my family’s bodies, I am just as aware of what goes on them and the environment in which we live.

A few years ago our son, Charlie was diagnosed with virus-induced asthma. Countless trips to our Children’s Hospital we have made, and I cringe anytime I hear another person sneeze or cough around him just praying that he doesn’t catch the bug.

My husband and I have since discovered that this is an all too common problem in our society today. Could it be environmental? Could it be allergies? Could it be something we are eating? A lot more research is being done but in the meantime, I’m doing the best that I can to clean up the toxin in our lives.

Check out my Clean Living Page where I talk about safer switches to help clean out the toxins.

Thank you for stopping by! Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.

XO,

Susie
